Weeks 42 & 43--Changes We Can See...Finally
I just really love to see these 2 pictures next to each other. The bottom is the house on the day we looked at it and the top was taken in the exact same spot looking the same direction--quite a change.
The day after the countertops were installed, Dave installed the sink and faucet.
It looks great and I love the accessories, but I do not love any of it. The faucet is cheap because we could not get the one we wanted--and it keeps clogging. The sink is too flat and does not drain as fast as it should. Hopefully, we can work through some of the problems---and at least it is pretty.
Dave also worked on wood trim and it makes the house look so much more finished.
Dave also built the roof support structure in the attic and the inspector signed off on it.
The same day the inspector came for the roof structure, the chimney got its final check for the fireplace so Dave closed in the hole in the fireplace and then got to work drywalling.
I have also been scrubbing the brick on the fireplace and most of the black stains are gone--the cigarette smoke stains are taking a little more time.
While Dave continued to drywall the living room, I worked on getting the master bath ready. I painted the walls and with the help of Lauryn got the new wallpaper hung.
Dave finished installing the lights and then got the uncoupling membrane ready to lay the tile. The grey color and wallpaper really warm up the room.
We are really looking forward to being able to curl up in the living room in front of the fireplace and enjoy the house. We got a couch to get ready to enjoy it--Lauryn and Rufus got a head start relaxing in the living room this weekend.
The floors look better with wood. It looks much cleaner. The old carpet was too hard to clean. I agree it looks much better
