Day 165--More Floor
An Unexpected Project
Tonight I started laying the floor in the laundry room. It is a waterproof cork floor with a cork underlayment. It is very easy to install--if you have enough room to move.
Dave started the night with a list of what he wanted to accomplish. First he painted the ceiling in the hall and kitchen. Yep, that all white picture is the ceiling he painted--aren't you glad I usually spare you the boring pictures!
Then he hung the wall sconces above the kitchen sink. They blend into the white primed walls, but I think that they will really pop against the blue tile once it is in.
Finally, he began the unexpected project...the basement stairs.
No one has used them in years and now they have a steady stream of traffic. They are falling apart.
The treads are separating from the sides and so tonight, Dave tried to fix the worst one and ended up breaking the stair tread. He was able to reinforce it so that we can use it for now, but several treads will need to be replaced and the side secured better in the long term.
Finally, here is a guest visit from my dog niece. When she was here, she kept taking Ralphie's old pillow that we had set out in the breezeway. She loved it, but we thought she would just chew it up. In the end, we gave it to her because we had no use for it and she loved it so. Here is the picture I received today!
She at least 7 times bigger that Ralphie was--so she uses it as a pillow!
