Day 163--The Start of a Kitchen
And Laundry Room
We have 9 of the 17 cabinets in our kitchen installed--more than half way there!! Dave spent most of his day installing kitchen cabinets. He began in the corner with the uppers and then the lowers.
Then he kept going under the sink.
While he worked on the cabinets, I painted. First I primed parts of the ceiling and the old pantry closet. Then I painted the ceiling in the laundry room. Next I used an oops paint that I had picked up at HD one day for $2 to paint the laundry room wall behind where the cabinets and washer and dryer will be.
I think it will be a great pop of color against the white cabinets and appliances. Speaking of white, I had to run to HD to get some white that matched the cabinets and when I got back, I was surprised to see that the giant pantry units had been moved out of the living room.
The most harrowing part of the day--worrying about the new cabinets while Dave scribed and cut the edge to match the wall.
It all worked out in the end.
And the craziest part is how empty the living room is starting to look after 3 months of using it as a storage space.
