Day 153 & 154--Flooring Forever

Countertop Exploration

Yesterday Dave helped me cut all the tiles for the perimeter of the bathroom.  I measured and marked the correct side of the tile and then he cut it. The 3 different tones of the tile and the pattern gave Dave a headache to figure out, but I love doing it. Cutting the tile gives me a headache, but he put ear protection on and powered through it.

Tonight we continued with patching the wood floor. The floor in the living room runs a different direction than the rest of the house and since we took out a wall, we needed to cut off the end of the boards to make a new fresh line to match the kitchen floor.

The new line turned out great.

Then he had to router the edge of all those boards as shown in the top picture and then glued in a tab for the new board. Then he glued and nailed the new starting board.

Lauryn and I went shopping for countertops today and I fell in love with a very expensive, very beautiful granite.

It is creamy white with navy blue rivers and gold flecks. Wouldn't it make a beautiful island!
