Day 43-Porch and Power

Cleaning Up

Yesterday was such a beautiful day, I decided it would be nice to have the furniture in the screen porch for another nice place to sit while we wait for a finished living room. Mary and I brought the furniture in but discovered it was disgustingly dirty.  So today, I mopped it....and then mopped it again...and then mopped it one more time. I took out some of the dog urine soaked woodwork and removed the loose tiles from one area. Now you can sit out there.

While I worked on this, Dave got started on drilling holes for the electric in the laundry room and new hall.

In the afternoon, we took a break to clean up the breezeway from the door and window install and to drag so much stuff to the curb for the large item pick up--bathroom vanity, old
wood, downspouts,  awnings, and more. Our garbage crew loves us!

Then Mary and I had room to put together a huge shelf for the garage--we are slowly finding the garage.

Later, Dave's mom held the shop vac up to catch the plaster while he experimented with making square holes in the ceiling for our new lights.

It is challenging given how thick the plaster really is--it chips, shatters, and breaks.
