Day 36--Some Days the Changes Are Easy to See

The Neighbors Are Noticing

Today Dave, Mary, and I worked to clear all the brush from the front of the house and lined it up next to the road from brush collection truck to take, next month!

While we were outside, many people walked by and welcomed us to the neighborhood. They all commented on how happy they were to see someone fixing up this house. Our neighbor across the street brought us cookies and a wonderful card that began, "I see you hard at work over there breathing new life into the house." It brought tears to my eyes! I have been so worried about what the neighbors think as we make a bigger mess while trying to clean up Our Monona Mess.

In other news, the plumber worked all afternoon to put the new sewer vent out the existing hole in the roof.

Today was the first "chore" day since moving in. Doing dishes and laundry were in close proximity. Vacuuming was easy with so few rooms to vacuum. And no kitchen to clean made clean up fast. I guess that is one advantage to having very little house to live in.
