Day 32-Closing Day

Furnace Finally

Dave still had several items to get out of the garage at the old house before we closed on it, but we were delayed again by the furnace. The warranty company decided to come inspect it again based on the fact that 2 other hvac companies said that it needed to be fixed. The warranty company decided to send all the information to Bryant and have them decide what to do.  After a few phone calls back and forth,  they decided to replace the secondary heat exchanger as recommended, but that the furnace was safe to use until then.

We ran out of time to get everything out of the garage before closing, but our friends across the street from the old house offered their garage until we could get back to get our things.

As we quickly ran to close on the old house, the building inspector called to notify us that there are 7 outstanding building violations from the previous owners of Monona Dr that need to be remedied.
They include dangers such as the awning falling off the house, the trees in the gutters (already fixed on day one), the driveway, downspouts, etc. Basically, someone complained about the house in the past and the building inspectors came and observed as many violations from the road as they could find and now we need to work on fixing them. No one mentioned this during closing.

We finished the day with a lllooonnnggg trip to Home Depot. We finally picked up the shower for the master bathroom.

And we got several storage shelf sets for the basement and garage to try and clean up the mess.

By the time we got home and unloaded, we were too exhausted to actually clean up the mess.
