Day 8--One Door Closed, Another Door Opened

A Productive Saturday

Dave and I swapped jobs for awhile today.  He sanded windows (I hate sanding) and I got to pull up this big pile of wood flooring from the old bathroom.

Lauryn and I kept sanding and scraping woodwork while Dave closed off the old door to the master power room.  Then he began working on opening the new door to the new master bathroom.

Here is the new wall. The old door was 24 inches wide and the new door is 32 inches wide.

Before Lauryn and I headed home, there was more measuring and planning to be done, so I used Dave's new self-leveling laser to mark out the new laundry room and bathroom on the kitchen floor. The laundry room is in the foreground and the back will connect to the other bathroom to make the big master suite.

After we left, Dave kept working on the bathroom. Check out the bathtub pipe--bet that water did not drain.
