Day 7--Furnishing Friday
Out with the Old, In with the New...and Old
Today was an exciting day--the old appliances left. This beautiful greenish fridge (it does not look it in the picture) that we had to tape shut because brave people kept opening it just to see--and would stink up the house--and the dark brown range were taken away by Main Appliance. They delivered the new fridge, dryer, and dishwasher. My new gas range and washer are not in yet.
Lauryn and I finally made it to ReStore before it closed today and saw these 2 chests and many other items that looked familiar. These were last seen in our new house as recently as the final walk-thru on January 28th.
We did find some new furnishings for the house though. These dressers came home with us, as did some new hexagonal mirrors for the master bath. The dressers might be used as dressers or might be converted to something else.
Speaking of hexagons, the bathroom tiles are the coolest hexagons ever. And the new screen porch and breezeway tile in the corner is a hexagon too, I see a pattern here.
Mary and Jim came again today. Jim sanded tons of woodwork and Mary kept scrubbing. She scrubbed the disgusting bathroom in the basement (it is just a toilet in the closet under the stairs) and now it shines. It is about to be the only toilet in the house, but now it is way better than having a freezing port-a-potty.
Basement toilet--before Mary scrubbed it
After having Ian's Pizza delivered for dinner, Mary and Jim went home and Lauryn, Dave, and I sanded and scraped woodwork all night.
