Day 4--Floored

Day 4--Floored by the Floor

Dave picked up another Home Depot order this morning that included our new bathtub...for the master bathroom...unfortunately not the bathroom we are working on.

He and Tyler arrived at the house after running some errands in time to see the dumpster delivered. Dave's excited that it is a walk in dumpster and I am happy to see how big it is. We get it for 14 days...let the filling begin.

Dave and Tyler spent rest of the day on the bathroom.  They removed the linen closet walls, the wall between the bathrooms, and half of the bathroom vanity (to be fair half of it was a bad addition--the sink was a parasitic sink with the other sink). The cabinet addition was cheap plywood covered in formica (someone really loved formica) and when Dave took out the screws, it just fell apart.

No more closet.

No more wall between the bathrooms

Just the original half of the cabinet (we are going to try to keep using this half of the bathroom until the new hall bathroom is ready to use).

As the day went on, it became obvious that the floor tile was very well attached to the floor. Dave and Tyler tried a variety of strategies to get that tile off the floor.

And in the end, they gave up and came home to think of a new plan of attack.
Foiled by the floor on day four!
