Day 3-Bathroom Breakage
Look who came to help
After taking a large load of junk...I mean valuable items..from this garage to that garage, Dave met Spectrum right on time to install the internet this morning. A sub contractor, who was really enjoying his job, tested the line and discovered that he needed to climb a pole to physically connect the cable. No wonder we could not get it working yesterday! Then he decided the signal was so strong, we could just leave it sitting on the workbench in the basement and it would serve the entire house. A job well done!
Dave continued to fill and repair woodwork and walls to get ready for paint and his mom came a cleaned windows and walls and made the house smell Pine-Sol fresh. Teagan, Lauryn, and I arrived at lunch time and hardly recognized the almost pleasant smell of the house.
Since our Valley Edge house was being inspected, the dogs joined us in the living room for our lunch on a sawhorse and old door table, an afternoon of school...and dropped internet. After a stressful and frustrating afternoon of dropped internet, I called Spectrum yet again. They agreed to send a technician at 5pm.
Dave finally got the new door installed between the garage and the breezeway to replace the screen door--this one is a real steel door. Unfortunately, we got the wrong lock to be able to lock it yet.
Tyler got there around 5pm and he and Dave spent the evening continuing to take out the bathroom.
An Electric Bathtub??
And the big accomplishment of the day...they removed the cast iron bathtub. All 500 pounds of it are gone (well moved to the current dining room--how do we get rid of it now?)
Oh yeah...and Spectrum came back. The lovely technician, Rian, discovered that the lines were eaten by rodents and ran new lines. Then he ran a new wall jack to the center of the house.
After 4 Spectrum phone calls and 2 technician visits, we really truly have internet. Just a little late for school today!
