Day 16--Taking Out the Trash

Primed and Ready

How do you get the trash to the end of the driveway? With a truck, of course, especially when the trash is a very heavy cast iron bathtub.  We also had to tie up this pile of carpet remnants with duct tape and take it to the end of the driveway. It was so cold that the duct tape would not stick, so I had to keep putting it inside my coat to warm up.

When not taking out the trash, we spent most of the day masking up the house to get ready to paint. We used rolls of paper, tarps, rolls of plastic, 3 rolls of green tape, 2 rolls of blue tape, and yes, anything lying around to encase the wood floor and the windows.

Finally at 6:30 tonight, Dave fired up the sprayer and primed all the woodwork for the bathrooms and kitchens.

Then came clean up--that sprayer takes longer to clean than it does to use it to paint.  We also needed to empty the former kitchen because tomorrow the asbestos people come to take apart the floor.

Our first Amazon package came to the house today too--

What's inside? A mailbox, of course. We did not get it hung up yet, so luckily there is no mail tomorrow.
