Day 11--Floors, Doors, and Friends
A 3 Person Crew
Today started with a visit from Dan from Nelson Flooring for a bid to refinish the hardwood floors in the house. We are hoping to get the bedrooms and hall refinished before we move in. Today was the first day that we got a good view of the floors. They are going to be so beautiful!
Dave found another area of the floor that needed patching. It looks like they extended the closet door when they remodeled the master bedroom. That horrible remodel just keeps giving us new gifts. Dave did a great job patching it.
Speaking of patching things, the wall is looking great.
I have a couple of fabulous friends who have kids who enjoy working on construction more than our own children do--so they are helping us with the house this week (perhaps longer).
Meet Cortez and Grayson
Behind the scenes today, I started getting bids from plumbers for rough in for the bathrooms and kitchen, arranged appointments with builders to give bids on egress windows and window salesman for kitchen and bathroom windows, and got us an appointment at Deconstruction to look for doors that match ours.
Speaking of doors, Dave started scraping the doors and getting them ready to sand today. Check out the video above to see how easily the coating scrapes off.
